Bringing your family to Umrah is a beautiful way to connect with Allah (SWT) together and seek His blessings. While coming for Umrah with your family, you need to perform the core rituals like other pilgrims.

  • First, step into the state of Ihram. It is a state of purity. Men need to wear the two-piece unstitched white Ihram clothes and women should wear a modest, loose-fitting dress that covers the whole body except the hand and face. If any of your family members are performing for the first time tell them thoroughly how to enter the state.
  • Set your Niyyah (Intention) for the journey. Recite Talbiyah and come towards the Grand Mosque. If there’s a kid with you make the intention on behalf of him/her.
  • Enter the Grand Mosque and fulfill your dream of witnessing the Holy Kaaba and keep on reciting the Du'a. Also, tell others to concentrate on the Ibadat. No one should get distracted in the crowd.
  • Perform Tawaf. Circle the Holy Kaaba seven times anticlockwise. Raise your hand in supplication and recite Dua. As the area will be crowded, stay near your family members.  
  • Move to perform Sa’i. Walk seven times between the holy mountains of Safa and Marwa. Your walking should end at Marwa.
  • Now shave your head (Halq) or cut your hair (Taqsir). Women should cut a little lock of their hair.
  • Then you can come out of the state of Ihram.

One can come to perform Umrah with Kids. While Umrah is a pilgrimage meant for the mature ones, kids can come along with their parents. Going on a sacred journey with a kid can be memorable for everyone in the family. However, when you are coming for Umrah with your kids, you need to take care of certain aspects. Like-

  • You should manage the logistics keeping their comfort and health in mind.
  • If your kid takes some special food or medicines, take these things along with you.
  • You can choose child-friendly Umrah packages to perform the journey.
